El pasado 9 de noviembre, coincidiendo con la Semana de la Ciencia, vino un grupo de Grado Superior en Gestión Forestal y del Medio Natural del centro de Segovia CIFP de COCA. El grupo hizo una visita a las instalaciones de GREFA y les hicimos especial mención sobre las aves esteparias y el Proyecto de Control Biológico del topillo. Tras la visita, se prepararon para hacer cajas nido de lechuza y poder colocarlas en campos de Castilla y León, donde no tienen espacios para nidos y donde hay plagas de topillos.

On the 9th of November, coinciding with Science Week, a group of students from the Higher Degree in Forestry Management from the COCA CIFP centre in Segovia visited us. They visited GREFA’s facilities and we made special mention of the steppe birds and the Vole Biological Control Project. After the visit, they contributed to the project by making Barn owl nesting boxes.  They will be placed in cropfields in Castilla y Leon where the lack of nesting places and shelters for predators encourages the proliferation of vole infestations.
