Celebramos en nuestro centro de Naturaleza Viva de GREFA esta iniciativa que ofrece anualmente la Unión Europea y que tiene como objetivo dar a conocer los beneficios y oportunidades que ofrece el programa Erasmus+.
Alumnos y alumnas de 5º de primaria han podido conocer de primera mano a algunas de las aves esteparias irrecuperables que viven en nuestro centro y conocer cuáles son sus amenazas y qué podemos hacer para ayudarlas. Les hemos enseñado por ejemplo que a veces podemos fabricar “casas” para darles cobijo, por ejemplo cajas nido para lechuzas, cernícalos vulgares y mochuelos, e incluso ¡hoteles para insectos!. Estos refugios artificiales suplen muchas veces la falta de arbolado, arbustos, muros de piedra y majanos que es el hogar natural de estos animales.

At GREFA’s Education Centre, Naturaleza Viva, we celebrated this annual initiative offered by the European Union, which aims to raise awareness of the benefits and opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme.
Year 5 primary school students were able to meet some of the endangered steppe birds that live in our centre, learn about the threats they face and what we can do to help them. For example, we showed them that we can sometimes make ‘houses’ to give them shelter, such as nest boxes for Barn Owls, Kestrels and Little Owls, and even hotels for insects! These artificial shelters often make up for the lack of trees, shrubs, stone walls and piles that are the natural home of these animals.
