GREFA ha participado un año más en la Feria de Entidades de Acción Voluntaria que el Ayuntamiento de Majadahonda organiza dentro del programa de sus fiestas patronales.
La Feria tiene como objetivo dar a conocer el trabajo de las diferentes asociaciones y ONGs de la localidad y sus ofertas de voluntariado. Otras 15 entidades compartieron con GREFA este espacio peatonal en la Gran Vía de Majadahonda. Además, los pequeños y no tan pequeños tuvieron la oportunidad de participar en actividades como el Taller de Identificación de Huellas y de siluetas que ofrecimos durante toda la mañana.
De las personas que se acercaron a visitar nuestro stand muchos ya nos conocían porque habían traído algún animal herido o habían colaborado con nosotros como voluntarios. Para otros era la primera vez, en este caso les recomendamos hacer la visita guiada que ofrecemos los fines de semana y festivos y les informamos además de las diferentes formas de colaborar con nosotros: cuota de socio, apadrinamientos, ecotienda y por supuesto el voluntariado.
La Feria nos sirvió también para promocionar nuestro programa educativo y las actividades que llevamos a cabo, como el proyecto Docendo Discimus. Para ello, además de crear una decoración temática del stand con figuras e ilustraciones de aves esteparias, presentamos algunos recursos educativos como un pequeño juego para adivinar el nombre de algunas de estas aves o un taller de huellas de algunos de los animales que se pueden encontrar en estos ecosistemas. Una vez más confirmamos el poco conocimiento que tiene el público general sobre este tipo de fauna asociada a los campos de cultivos y lo importante que es darlas a conocer.
GREFA has participated in the Voluntary Action Organisations Fair organised by Majadahonda Town Council as part of its patron saint’s festivities.
The aim of the Fair is to publicise the work of the different associations and NGOs in the town and their volunteering opportunities. Another 15 organisations shared with GREFA this pedestrian space on the Gran Vía in Majadahonda. In addition, the young and not so young had the opportunity to participate in activities such as the Footprints and Silhouettes Identification Workshop that we offered throughout the morning.
Many of the people who came to visit our stand already knew us because they had brought an injured animal or had collaborated with us as volunteers. For others it was the first time, in this case we recommended them to visit us in one of the guided tours that we offer on weekends and holidays and we also informed them of the different ways to collaborate with us: membership fees, sponsorship, eco-shop and of course volunteering.
The Fair also served to promote our educational programme and the activities we carry out, such as the Docendo Discimus project. For this, as well as creating a thematic decoration of the stand with figures and illustrations of steppe birds, we presented some educational resources such as guessing game about the name of some of these bird or a workshop on the footprints of some of the animals that can be found in these ecosystems. Once again we confirmed how little knowledge the general public has about this type of fauna associated with crop fields and how important it is to make them known.
